PM Gilani rules out martial law in Pakistan


Martial Law will not be imposed in Pakistan : PM Gilani
ISLAMABAD: December 19, (AP): Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said today evening while addressing in the session of National Assembly Islamabad, “Martial Law will not be imposed in the country. People of Pakistan and specially the workers of Pakistan Peoples Party have sacrificed very much for the constant establishment, strengthening and continuity of the democracy in the country.”
He said regarding memogate case heard in the Supreme Court of Pakistan, “Government of Pakistan will apologize to the Chief Justice Supreme Court of Pakistan if there will be any contradictory statement had been submitted from the Federation or by the Government of Pakistan’s Attorney General if that would be quoted by the apex court during hearing.”
He further said, ”Democracy will cotinue in the country, all the institutions are working in stable, smooth and normal practice. Nobody will be allowed to destablize the democracy.”
